GPS or BLE for asset tracking?

Is BLE the same as GPS?

No. BLE is a short-range radio technology used for proximity and indoor/site detection. GPS/GNSS estimates geographic position from satellites.

Which technology has better battery life?

There is no single answer because device size, reporting rate and workflow matter. BLE is inherently low power, while purpose-built battery GPS trackers can also operate for long periods when reporting is configured sensibly.

Can GPS and BLE appear in the same platform?

Yes. Different tracking technologies can feed a common operational platform so teams do not need a separate user experience for each asset class.
